A more flexible stock rule

Keep these points in mind. Relaxed Spider on tfjsb.com permits stock deals while columns are empty. The game still uses 104 cards in ten columns. Choose one suit, two suits or four suits using the game controls. The objective remains eight complete same-suit King-to-Ace runs.

Deal into empty columns

The relaxed stock rule does not allow mixed-suit groups to move together. An empty column no longer prevents a stock deal in this variant. A stock card dealt to an empty column becomes that column's first face-up card. The relaxed stock rule does not change the rank requirement for ordinary moves.

Ten columns and a stock

Keep these points in mind. Only the bottom card of each opening column is face up. The first four columns have six cards each and the remaining six have five. The stock contains fifty cards for five later deals. The opening tableau contains 54 cards.

Descending rank placement

A few details help explain this feature. A King needs an empty destination because no rank is higher. An exposed card may land on another exposed card exactly one rank higher. An Ace cannot receive a lower-ranked card. The two cards do not need to share a suit for a single-card placement.

Move a group

The following details apply here. A descending group moves as a unit only when every selected card shares a suit. A suit change can leave a smaller movable group at the bottom of a column. Same-suit building can reduce the work needed to separate mixed sequences later. A break in rank prevents the entire selected group from moving together.

Use empty columns thoughtfully

Here are the details for this mode. Any exposed card or legal same-suit group can occupy an empty column. You may preserve an empty column until you decide to deal from the stock. Empty columns remain useful for separating temporary mixed builds. A new stock row fills every empty column with one card.

Stock deals are still shared

A few details help explain this feature. You cannot direct an individual stock card to a chosen destination. A stock deal places one card onto each of the ten columns. Undo restores the previous arrangement when the stock-deal snapshot is available. Dealing can block an existing sequence as well as reveal new combinations.

Collect matching runs

A few details help explain this feature. Eight collected runs are required to finish Relaxed Spider. A complete run contains thirteen face-up cards in one suit from King to Ace. Changing the number of suits does not change the number of required runs. The game removes a complete run automatically at the bottom of a column.

Practice the variant

Keep these points in mind. Hints identify legal options without guaranteeing a win. New game creates a fresh shuffle in the selected suit setting. Random relaxed deals are not presented as guaranteed solvable. Replay restores the same shuffle for another attempt.
